On May 4th, 2019, the Psi Omicron chapter of Kappa Delta Pi hosted our first annual Culturally Responsive Teaching Workshop. We were privileged to have as our keynote speaker Lauri Weiner, Stevenson University Associate Profe.

Eight interns from Stevenson University have been named as 2019 Maryland Teachers of Promise. These teacher candidates have been identified as among the most promising and gifted pre-service educators who plan to teach in Mar.

Education graduate, Mabelle Hurtado (Class of ‘12), presented on diverse children’s literature in the Methods for Teaching Elementary English/Language Arts and Social Studies course on April 17. Mabelle has been a teacher.

Six Education Majors presented the findings of their Classroom Inquiry Self-Studies at the 2019 Paul D. Lack Scholars’ Showcase on March 29 at the Manning Academic Center at Stevenson University.

School of Education graduates Amanda Beacham ‘10 (Early Childhood Education) and Brad Scrivener ’06 (Elementary Education) were spotted at the Carroll Community College (CCC) Education Advisory Board meeting on March 14. .
