On October 14, 2014, Stevenson University welcomed speaker Lily Myers Kaplan, author of Two Rare Birds: A legacy of Love and founder of Spirit of Resh Foundation.

Kaplan presented a reading of her book in the Greenspring library Archive Room. Her book highlights a personal journey with her sister and brother-in-law as they each dealt with cancer. It is an inspirational memoir recounting a fourteen year cancer journey and the hardships of four deaths occurring in less than four years.

Her official book launch was held at the Jewish Community Center on Gwynnbrook Drive on Sunday at 11. She also joined Professor Richard Metzger’s life-span class on Monday evening. In the words of Professor Metzger: “Her book is a challenge to us all to consider the ways in which family and life transitions can serve to offer inspiration and growth.”
