Participatory Art Display Through a Stevenson University Arts Alive! Arts Integration grant,
Inna Alesina, M.F.A., Assistant Professor of Art and Stephanie Verni, M.F.A., Professor, Business Communication, collaborated in the Advertising Campaign class to help students gain a better understanding of the Stevenson community through the use of participatory art. Students created and integrated participatory stations around campus—a moving wall, a large chalkboard wall, and secret boxes—to solicit feedback from the community about various prompts. Afterward, students created typographic art in visiting artist Zvezdana Stojmirovic’s one-day workshop, where they shared and promoted concepts learned in class. The result of the project is exhibited in the display in the Manning Academic Center:
