Over the course of 3 days—March 3-4-5—Alexandria Queen (bio below) will visit classes and speak to students about a variety of production-related topics, from below-the-line on-set roles, to working as a team to get the most out of a project, to documentary storytelling, and more. On Tuesday, March 4, at 7pm in the School of Design, Art, and Communication’s Soundstage, Queen will host a conversation on “Secrets to Creative Success with AI.” A 6pm reception precedes the event in the SODAC lobby.
Alexandria Queen is an award winning Producer in unscripted television, with a heart for under-told stories. Born and raised in Baltimore, Queen started her career in production management after graduating from Howard University. Later expanding to LA, she worked her way up to Line Producer before switching to the creative side of storytelling. Some of her credits include: The NAACP Image Awards, Black Girls Rock, The Kennedy Center Honors, Rhythm & Flow, Ava DuVernay’s Home Sweet Home, Brené Brown: Atlas of the Heart, High on the Hog and many more projects on a variety of platforms. Through her production company, Create & Serve Media Group, Queen continues to develop content and experiences that make people feel seen. Her latest experiential initiative, Crew Call, is a hybrid physical and virtual community designed to help creatives below-the-line gain education and access to more industry opportunities – especially outside of the flagship Hollywood cities. Amidst all the credits, Queen maintains that her greatest achievements are being a mom to her 2 kids and building a beautiful life with her high school sweetheart.
