This year’s Stevenson University Film & Moving Image 72-Hour Film Festival, sponsored by our amazing FMI Club, runs Nov. 14-17. We will screen the completed films on Friday, November 21, at 7pm in our Soundstage.
Contestants have to work with the following three requirements:
- Film must include a match cut.
- Film must include the line “You’re going to want to sit down for this” (‘gonna’ and ‘wanna’ are fine).
- Film must include one character that carries the same object in every scene.
The prize for first place is $150 (3 x $50 Amazon gift cards); second place is $120 (3 x $40 Amazon gift cards); third place is $90 (3 x $30 Amazon gift cards); and the audience award is also $90 (3 x $30 Amazon gift cards).
The 2025 festival will be judged by Stevenson University President Eliot Hirshman, FMI Alumna Allie Sheedy (Class of 2020), and Baltimore-based filmmaker and film programmer Eric Cotten. Many thanks to them for the time they will give to watch and evaluate all submissions.
