This year’s Stevenson University Film & Moving Image 72-Hour Film Festival ran Nov. 14-17. We screened the completed films on November 21. The four genres chosen by the participating crews were: drama, found footage, silent film, and time travel. Contestants had to work with the following three requirements:

  • Film must include one character that carries the same object in every scene.
  • Film must include a match cut.
  • Film must include the line “You’re going to want to sit down for this” (‘gonna’ and ‘wanna’ are fine).

Once the four completed films were submitted on Monday, November 17, our three participating judges—Stevenson University President Elliot Hirshman, FMI Alumna Allie Sheedy (Class of 2020), and Baltimore-based filmmaker and film programmer Eric Cotten—watched the movies and chose their top 3. At the end of the screening on Friday, November 21, the audience then voted on their favorite, which received the audience award. Prizes consisted of Amazon gift cards.

All credits for each film can be found within the actual movie or listed below the Vimeo file.
