Welcome back to the 2018 spring semester with the Fashion Design and Merchandising Department!!

We hope that everyone had wonderful holidays and an enjoyable break! We are thrilled to share some of our upcoming exciting events that the students, faculty, and staff will be participating in this spring.

On Sunday, February 11th, ten Stevenson University Fashion Design students will be showcasing their designs in New York during the 2018 New York Fashion Week. This excting fashion show will be held at the Mercedes Benz Manhattan, 770 11th Avenue, 10019 at 4pm! During the show, students will gain beneficial experience by working backstage with professional designers, models, make-up artists, and hair stylists. Additionally, they will also be included in the media hour where they will have the opportunity to meet members of the press and fashion buyers.

From February 12th to February 15th, Dr. Holly Lentz-Schiller will be taking students to Las Vegas. There they will be attending Magic, the largest fashion and apparel industry tradeshow! Students will have the chance to explore the tradeshow floors where they will gain valuable insight into the buying and selling industry.

Don’t forget about the SU Spring Break! Please note that the college will be CLOSED from Monday, March 12th to Sunday, March 18th. Also, college will be closed for the Easter holiday – Friday, March 30th to Sunday, April 2nd.

On Saturday, May 5th, we invite you to joins us as students showcase their designs in a spectacular runway show. The time and place of this exciting event will be announced soon! These collections will grace the runway at the 7th Annual Student Fashion Show, which will include all Senior Collections, pieces from the “Sustainability in Fashion, Empathy for the Environment, collection, as well as the garments that strutted down the runway during New York Fashion Week!
