Do you want to be a fashion editor or the next Anna Wintour? I know just the place where you can start! I was the Style Intern at Baltimore Magazine for the Style Editor, Lauren Bell. I got to work hand in hand with her, trend forecasting for upcoming issues, conducting interviews for beauty and wellness columns, pulling and returning items from local businesses for photoshoots, and writing content for the blog. There’s a lot of preparation that goes into putting together an issue. I interviewed local makeup artists, acupuncturists, exercise trainers, and local business owners for the “Ask the Expert” column.

The most fun part for me was doing the pulls. I traveled all around Baltimore City including Fells Point, Federal Hill, Hampden, etc. and learned about local businesses I didn’t know about. I would go to stores and pull items that fit our trend piece and arrange them for the photoshoots. When coming up with ideas for content, I learned a lot about trend forecasting. It involved going to local stores to see what’s trending, creating Pinterest boards, and mood boards. If you love the city and want new exciting experiences each day, then Baltimore Magazine is the perfect internship for you.
