I am currently a fashion merchandising senior at Stevenson University. I grew up in New Haven, Connecticut, and my mother is a wedding and event planner. I have had the pleasure to intern this semester with a wedding and design firm named Blissful Blessings Events of Bowie, Maryland which was right up my alley. This internship has been very memorable and rewarding. Each week, I attended an event or sat behind the desk going over set objectives given to me in order to prepare for an upcoming event. My favorite part of the internship was attending the Wedding Wire World Convention in Washington D.C. I was able to meet many wedding planners and vendors. I met Monte from “Say Yes To The Dress”. Monte shared a quick laugh with me and even a selfie on my way out (see picture). I was also very involved with marketing the business to keep Blissful Blessings thriving. I loved spending the weekends at David’s Bridal creating mock reception tables and handing out business cards to future brides. The event was always successful because we did bouquet giveaways that we actually put together and gave away little incentives to market the future brides. This internship experience was one to remember and taught me more planning skills than I could ever have imagined.
