Diving head first into the fashion world can be one big, scary step. As someone who has always been interested in fashion, I have dreamed of a job in New York with a big fashion house. Fortunately, being a fashion merchandising student at Stevenson University and working in the fashion industry perfectly aligned with each other through my Sales Associate position at Coach Inc. – making that big step a bit easier.

As a Sales Associate for Coach, the experience gave me insight into the world of fashion and retail. Working closely with my Store Manager, I helped with visuals, marketing, promotions, and store paperwork. The knowledge gained in the classroom at Stevenson, as well as first hand experience working in retail, gave me more insight into the fashion industry. My course work in the fashion merchandising program helped set the foundation for the skills I needed at Coach. Starting in retail while being a full time student, I was able to have a foot in the door to where I want to end up after graduation. Coach and many other fashion corporations have internships and jobs available for in-house Associates that allow you to move up through the company.
