Despite the dreary rainy weather, Stevenson University’s 65th Commencement Ceremony took place on the Greenspring campus. At 10am, on Thursday, May 17th six fashion design seniors, Allison Jones, Candace Cruise, Chantel King, Cori Green, Megan Moore, and Tearsa Thomas excitedly crossed the stage, officially completing their Bachelor’s Degrees in Fashion Design!

Allison Jones will be participating in other fashion shows and fashion contests over the summer; she is hoping to get garments ready for the Art of Fashion competition; she should hear from them tomorrow! Immediately after graduation Allison will use her military background to go back to working for the government, however, while she is there, she will start taking the first steps to starting her own fashion business. Although her website is not up yet she can be contacted at her business email: and she can be followed on Instagram at

Like, Allison Jones, Candace Cruise is also hoping to hear from the international Art of Fashion competition to see if she will get to showcase her pieces. She is, however, already participating in the International Modeling Convention in New York, where she will get to have one of her senior collection pieces strut down the runway. For the future, Candace and her mom are going to start a business together! They will be local to the Baltimore area and will have fabrics and crafts. Keep track of Candace by following her at

In about 24 hours, Chantel King, will be traveling to Vegas to celebrate all the hard work she put into her senior collection and finally graduating! Chantel has big dreams to move to New York City, one of the world’s leading cities for fashion! Chantel told me that, “In NYC, I plan to work for someone else in the industry before I start my own brand/label in order to get hands on experience/ learn from the best.” She also plans on getting her Master’s degree sometime in the near future, either in Design or possibly Merchandising.
