Every Stevenson University English student takes on an internship during their senior year. You would be surprised as to the number of different companies looking for English majors. The following is an interview with Mone Moore, a senior English major who focuses on creative writing, about her experience while working at Mosaic Learning, a company that makes gamefied learning tools using technologies like video and virtual reality.

1. What did you do at your internship? Would you have thought of this as a potential career path when going into the English major?

– My work at Mosaic primarily consisted of copy editing storyboards and writing scripts for program promotionals. I didn’t think of this as a potential career before applying to the internship.

2. What are some things that you learned during your internship? How do you plan on applying these to either the English major or future job positions?

– I learned a lot about writing for a very specific audience and also some content creating. I’m currently working there part-time and it’s still very interesting work. I plan on staying there for a while.
