BizComm alum Brian Myers, the fundraising and events manager for the Livestrong Foundation, is on his way to the Survivor Summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, located in the east African nation of Tanzania. At 19,341 feet, Mount Kilimanjaro is not only the highest peak in Africa, but the tallest freestanding mountain in the world.

Chris Warner, the founder and CEO of Earth Treks, is leading the expedition that will take the team on a seven-day trek to Uhuru Peak at 19,341 feet. Each participant on the expedition was required to raise a minimum of $10,000, which covers lodging in Africa, meals, guides and a donation to LIVESTRONG, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of cancer survivors.

We can still support Brian through his Livestrong site by clicking and contributing here. He is contributing anything he raises beyond the costs of the summit to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America for research to end this deadly and heartbreaking disease that claimed the life of Brian’s dad.
