On October 23, BizComm professor Heather Harris conducted an Escalation Workshop on behalf of the OneLove Foundation for Stevenson students in RISE (Reach out, Inspire, Strengthen, Empower). The workshop was designed to increase awareness of intimate partner violence among college students.
OneLove was founded in memory of Yeardley Love, a University of Virginia student, who was beaten to death by her boyfriend in 2010 just before her graduation. Dr. Harris was introduced to the program through her work as a board member of the Women’s Law Center of Maryland, and she is one of a number of trained Escalation facilitators on campus including BizComm assistant professor Chris Noya.
