We recently heard from BizComm alum Courtney Hastings (see inset photo above), who writes to us:

“Every year our local community college hosts a day-long social media conference that consists of break out sessions to choose from on different topics relating to social media. During lunch they have a panel of flash talks and a question-and-answer session with professionals, and they also have a keynote speaker. There are typically 400-500 people, and it has been sold out for the past few years.

This year I was asked to be a breakout session presenter at the conference, and I spoke on creating a social media plan. It was 50 minutes, and I went over what should be included in a plan.

In the spring, the college also offers a non-credit social media certificate with 6 classes, and I have been asked to teach the social media plan course for that as well. I am very excited! I had a great time at the conference. It was wonderful to network with so many talented professionals and I learned a lot from the sessions I was able to attend!”

Way to go, Courtney! So proud of you. We also know this wasn’t your first conference presentation, right?
