Warmest congratulations to the Applied Math Class of 2020 on your graduation! You are the next generation of leaders who have a responsibility to demonstrate to your peers, to young and older adults and children that nothing will stand in your way in fulfilling your life’s goals and ambitions. We wish you success, good fortune, good health, and happiness.

Congratulations to Math Faculty member, Dr. Mark Branson, on being awarded a Maryland Open Source Textbook Initiative Open Educational Resources (OER) Mini-Grant. Dr. Branson will use this grant to write a free textbook for our quantitative literacy, MATH 135: Introduction to Mathematical Reasoning course. The textbook will teach quantitative literacy in the context of social justice. We are excited to be able to offer a free textbook to our students at SU and to provide it free of charge to students at other institutions.
