The 2015 Maryland STEM Festival will be announced this Wednesday at the Maryland Science Center by Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. This Festival will take place in November 2015 and will encourage students of all ages to choose STEM-related careers, to showcase Maryland’s STEM achievements and to further integrate Maryland’s STEM community with the general populace. Stevenson University is proud to be one of the hosts for a STEM event during the 2015 Maryland STEM Festival. Stay tuned for more exciting details!

Students and faculty in the Math Department were excited to participate in Scholars’ Day 2015. Prospective applied math majors visited SU and learned about our program and the various careers that our alumni are pursuing. We were excited to have them participate in a fun computer activity- Torus Games: An Introduction to Topology. We hope to see many of them as freshmen in the fall!

Faculty and staff in the School of the Sciences showed their support for National Wear Red Day on February 6th. This day, started in 2004 by the American Heart Association, educates women on the dangers of heard disease and ways to support increased research and funding towards the treatment of heart disease.
