Stevenson’s Mill Agency Reimagines 2026 Baltimore Small Business Advancement Conference
This week, students from The Mill Agency—Stevenson University’s student-run design, marketing, and communications agency—presented their work to representatives of the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Small and Minority Business Advocacy & Development (SMBA&D).
“This was my first time working with a client and creating a pitch,” said Olivia McClymonds, a senior Business Communication major. “It was great to get actual experience working with a client and get feedback.”
Working with SMBA&D, the students of The Mill Agency were tasked with re-imagining the brand identity of the 2026 Baltimore Small Business Advancement Conference. Students developed a wide range of creative and strategic materials, including new logo designs, merchandise mock ups, drafted a comprehensive communications and social media strategy, produced a promotional video, and offered recommendations for planning the upcoming conference.
“We wrote interview questions and planned out a video to promote the conference,” said Claire Broadhurst, a junior Film and Moving Image major, and one of the students who created the conference’s promotional video. “Our goal was to highlight the conference, but keep it entertaining. During the filming process, we networked with people in the Mayor’s Office as well as business owners. It was a really great experience.”
