Personnel Files

An individual file, known as a personnel file, will be maintained for each employee. Employment records are considered confidential and University property. Access to the information they contain is available by meeting with a Human Resources representative. Personnel files may not leave Human Resources. Personnel files are maintained as electronic files in Human Resources.

The following contents will be maintained in the personnel file, including but not limited to: resume, application for employment, degree verifications, offer letter, other salary documents, and performance evaluations.

Human Resources maintains separate, confidential medical files. These files shall include, but not be limited to, workers’ compensation documents and FMLA forms and information.
