These are paid holidays for full-time staff. Part-time regular staff are eligible for the paid holiday if the holiday is observed on a day the part-time regular staff member is regularly scheduled to work.
Non-exempt employees who are required to work on a holiday’s observed date are paid at a time-and-a-half rate, and may substitute alternate time off at an hour-for-hour rate, to be taken within one month before or after the holiday worked. The alternate time off must be approved in advance by the employee’s supervisor.
Exempt employees who are required to work on a holiday’s observed date will be provided with alternate time off at an hour-for-hour rate, to be taken within one month before or after the holiday worked. The alternate time off must be approved in advance by the employee’s supervisor.
Holidays occurring during vacation leave are not counted as part of vacation leave, but instead are counted as holiday leave.
