Information is provided to new employees at monthly new-hire benefits meetings and each year at Open Enrollment. The University provides a 403(b) benefit opportunity to full-time and part-time employees. A description of this benefit is included in the Summary Plan Description and benefits guide located on the portal.
The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1986 (COBRA) requires that covered employers who sponsor group health plans offer employees and their families the opportunity for a temporary extension of health coverage at group rates in certain instances where coverage under the plan would otherwise end.
