Through the generosity of many individuals, alumni, foundations, and businesses, Stevenson University offers more than 60 endowed scholarships that support our upper division students (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) working toward the successful completion of their degrees. These endowed scholarships help Stevenson students through a number of special focuses, including recognizing academic achievement; meeting financial need; fostering leadership, service, and community engagement; and supporting internships and career aspirations.
Students interested in being considered for an endowed scholarship award should review the lists below for the scholarships for which they might qualify and complete the Endowed and Annual Scholarship Application to begin the application process.

Peter Harry Joseph Bauer Endowed Scholarship

Awarded to one or more students with good academic standing and financial need, with preference for students enrolled in the Nursing program. (Renewable)
Reynolds Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to full-time middle class undergraduate student(s) with demonstrated financial need and a GPA of 3.0 or greater. (Renewable)
Kimberly Serio Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a non-traditional student with financial need who is committed to acquiring a degree in order to advance their career, dedicated to educational pursuits, and committed to making a positive difference in the world. Harold M. Hirshman Endowed Scholarship
The Harold M. Hirshman Endowed Scholarship Fund will support the education of a student who has financial need and demonstrates a strong work ethic, career aspiration, and compassion for others.
Rosemary K. Harder Endowed Scholarship
The Rosemary K. Harder Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a dedicated female undergraduate student with creative leadership skills, demonstrated financial need, and a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Jo-Anna Conrey Endowed Scholarship
The Jo-Anna Conrey Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a first-generation full-time undergraduate student with financial need. Preference will be given to incoming freshman and minority students.
Jerome W. Geckle Professor of Information Technologies Fund
The Jerome W. Geckle Professor of Information Technologies Fund was created to retain and recruit outstanding faculty who support the College’s mission of providing the highest quality education in the expanding field of information technology.
Marion and Henry Knott Achievement Award
The Marion and Henry Knott Achievement Award is conferred on one graduating student who demonstrated the ability to achieve academically, to reach out to the needs of others at the university, and to persevere toward a goal while also managing major primary responsibilities outside Stevenson University life.
Dean Rose Dawnson Professorship Award
The Dean Rose Dawnson Professorship Award is presented annually to recognize innovative and energetic faculty who exemplify the art of teaching as mentors and scholars.
Claire Moore Endowed Scholarship
The Claire Moore Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate rising senior student with financial need, a minimum 3.0 GPA, and who is involved in University clubs, organizations, or athletics.

Dennis Starliper Annual Scholarship
The Dennis Starliper Annual Scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in the finance track of the University’s accounting or business administration degree program, with demonstrated financial need and a minimum 3.0 GPA.
BFG Financial Advisors Endowed Scholarship
The BFG Financial Advisors Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a rising junior or senior undergraduate student enrolled full-time, who maintains “good academic standing,” and has demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students from the Brown School of Business and Leadership as well as English majors.

Tori Chandler Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to full-time undergraduate Counseling and Human Services majors with demonstrated financial need, excellent academic credentials with a minimum 3.25 GPA. Preference given to candidates who have transferred from Carroll Community College or another community college. (Renewable)

Herget Endowed Nursing Scholarship
Awarded to students enrolled in the Nursing program, with preference given to candidates expressing a desire to serve as a nurse for at least two years in a hospital in the state of Maryland after graduation. Student must be in good academic standing, demonstrate financial need, and have a high probability of success in the nursing profession. (Renewable)
Joseph S. Keelty Endowed Nursing Scholarship
Awarded to students in the Nursing program with good academic standing, demonstrated financial need, and a high probability of success in the nursing profession. Kahlert Foundation STEM Scholarship Fund
The Kahlert Foundation STEM Scholarship Fund will provide scholarships to full-time students studying science, technology, engineering, and mathematics at Stevenson. The recipient must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need.
Susan Palmer Slattery, PhD Lecture Fund
The Susan Palmer Slattery, PhD Lecture Fund is awarded to female senior year math or science majors with a minimum 3.7 GPA.
Environmental Science

Awarded to a student to support academic year paid internships in Environmental Sciences. Awarded to an exceptional senior student in the Brown School of Business and Leadership who demonstrates strong ethical grounding and a work ethic resulting in academic and personal success. Preference is given to Business Administration majors.

Duncan-Ellis-McNally Endowed Accounting Scholarship Fund
Awarded to a full-time fourth year student with a minimum 3.5 GPA who has completed ACC202 with at least a B in the course. Award based on merit and financial need with a strong priority on academic achievement.
Franyo-Ehlers Endowed Scholarship for Human Services
Awarded to a full-time traditional rising junior who has been at Stevenson for a minimum of one semester prior to their sophomore year. Merit based scholarship for the student with the highest cumulative GPA in the fall semester of sophomore year.
Knapheide Endowed Scholarship for Human Services
Merit based award for a full-time rising senior(s) in the Counseling and Human Services program who has been a student for a minimum of one semester prior to the junior year. Selected student(s) must have junior year status in the Counseling and Human Services major and have the highest cumulative GPA in the fall semester of junior year. (Not renewable)
James E. Roberts Memorial Theatre Fund Award
Merit based award for a junior Theatre and Media Performance student. (Not renewable)
Susan Palmer Slattery, Ph.D. Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a female senior year student with a major in the Department of Mathematics and Physics, the Department of Biological Sciences, or the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry with a minimum 3.7 GPA. Candidates must complete the competitive application process. (Not renewable)
Jo-Ellen Turner, Ph.D. Endowed Scholarship in English
