Stevenson Public History major Caroline Smith earned an all-expense paid trip to present an invited paper at the annual meeting of the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR). Her paper addressed the use of the BioBlitz survey technique as a complement to a cultural history of an area. Developed by the National Park service, the BioBlitz sureys the flora and fauna of an area of a particular size within a specific amount of time. Historians and preservationists can make use of the technique in order to survey changes in the environment over time.
