For our eighteenth episode (and sixth and final of the 2022-2023 academic year), we welcome Stevenson FMI Alumnus Tyler Albizo (Class of 2021) and current Junior Sam Von Hagen (a Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics major and FMI minor) to discuss the new films BlackBerry, from director Matt Johnson, and The Starling Girl, from director Laurel Parmet, both of which begin their theatrical rollout on Friday, May 12. Blackberry(released by IFC Films) is a jaunty look at the rise and fall of Research In Motion (RIM), the company that brough us the once-ubiquitous Blackberry smartphone. The Starling Girl (released by Bleecker Street Media) is a fraught coming-of-age tale filled with sexual drama, set in a patriarchal religious community. As always, FMI Department Chair Chris Reed hosts.
