For our sixteenth episode (and fourth of the 2022-2023 academic year), we welcome Stevenson FMI Alumna Allie Sheedy (Class of 2020) and FMI First-Year Riley Frutiger to discuss the new film Emily—the directorial debut of actress Frances O’Connor—as well as this year’s Oscar-nominated live-action short films. Emily tells the story of 19th-century writer Emily Brontë, author of Wuthering Heights, and stars Emma Mackey as the title character. It came out from Bleecker Street Films on February 17 in Washington, DC, and comes out February 24 in Baltimore. The shorts began their national roll out, via ShortsTV, on February 17. As always, FMI Department Chair Chris Reed hosts.
