Tajniya Rice is a senior fashion design student at Stevenson who’s showcasing her collection at this year’s annual Stevenson University fashion show on May 6th. Tajniya first started sewing in Middle School during a life-skills class, where she enjoyed making a pillow and learning how to embroider. When looking for inspiration for a collection, she browses Pinterest and focuses on looking at the design’s colors, shapes, and forms. The class that solidified her fashion design dream for her was concept development because she could think creatively about ideas on her own and make decisions freely. Tajniya gives up-and-coming designers advice: “You are going to make mistakes; that is how you will succeed in life. It is ok to make mistakes in life”.
Tajniya’s dream job is becoming an entrepreneur. Check out Tajniya’s collection at this year’s fashion show!
