Quarantine Fashion Style

By: Erin Horsey

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the shift to a more remote lifestyle, our closets have missed us. With nowhere to go, and no one to see, sweatpants and sweatshirts became staple pieces, and loungewear is the newest trend. Homes have become new offices, and classrooms, and formal outfits have been shoved to the back of the closet. Loungewear is comfy, everyday clothing with a bit of refinement. There’s something about this style that is very versatile, whether it’s’ staying in bed all day or getting on a call with your professor. Here are three quarantine trends that were introduced during isolation and have made their way into a new way of dress even after quarantine was lifted!!

  1. Oversized Graphic T-shirts

Once worn as a way for women to rebel against showing off their curves and feminine bodice, the oversized t-shirt has become a staple for fashion lovers to express themselves through comfort and can be styled so many different ways. Whether its paired with biker shorts, leggings, ripped jeans, or whatever you desire, it’s sure to make a statement and add some spunk to your everyday wardrobe.

  1. Loungewear Matching Sets

Try a tie-dyed hoodie and sweatpants, cozy shorts and a tank, or a zip-up and joggers for a cozy aesthetic; matching sets are everywhere. Monochromatic colorways have hit the fashion world, and it’s time to embrace this trend. Style loungewear with your favorite pair of sneakers or furry slippers, and a chunky gold necklace for a more sophisticated look.

  1. Activewear

With gyms closing and people turning to at-home workouts, a new activewear outfit is sure to get you excited to workout. Invest in a good one to keep you motivated after hours of laying around watching that Netflix series for the third time. **Helpful tip: lay out your workout clothes the night before, so as soon as you wake up, you are ready to start your day**
