We are delighted to announce that recent graduate, Ms. Katie Ellsworth, has secured a position as a Production Development Assistant with Paul Francis Designs LLC, which is located in Maryland. In this position, Katie will work on computer aided pattern manipulation and creation. She will also assist the head designer in crafting flats, tech packs, hangtags, and cutting.
Katie brought her Senior Collection to her interview; both Paul and his business partner Francis, admired the design, patternmaking, and construction of her line. Since her hire date, Paul has been extremely impressed with Katie’s technical skills.
Paul Francis Designs LLC is a young company that is rapidly growing. The company is affiliated with Makers Row in NYC, a company that provides access to industry-specific contracts, factories, and suppliers across the U.S.
There is potential in the future to place more interns in positions with the company that may lead to full-time employment. They have both been very supportive of the Fashion Design program and this summer they hired one of our current students as an intern.
