ManneqART is a local non-profit organization focused on bringing Wearable Art to the attention of the American public. Through a variety of events during the year, this group strives to showcase the best in imaginative hair, make-up, costuming, and digital art. The focal point of the season is a public display of exceptional designs created by both professional and student artists from all over the world.

This will culminate in an Awards Gala Event, which will take place at the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center located on the grounds of Howard Community College on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Stevenson University’s fashion design major, Ms. Deneen Joyce Watson, created a wearable sculpture piece during her internship with Lee Anderson, Inc, which will be featured at the Gala and included in the ManneqART 2014 Calendar.

Ms. Deneen has been awarded the first Stevenson University Fashion Design Program Award for the winning costume she created for the juried ManneqART competition. The competition is open, internationally, to students studying fashion design. The award will be presented to Deneen on September 28 at the ManneqART Fashion Gala at Howard Community College. The winning design will be featured in the ManneqART 2015 Calendar. ManneqART is an international wearable art competition for hair, make-up, costume, and digital art.
