Last Thursday during Illustration, Professor Bell taught his students how to explore illustration on a different level. He guided them in an experimental drawing assignment in which the students were provided with a variety of flowers that they were to choose from to deconstruct. Quickly, what were once traditional flowers had become organic and unconventional drawing materials that the students used to create unique designs on their croquis.

I spoke with several students from the class, all of whom said they loved this unusual and inspiring assignment and were excited for next week’s class: drawing with melted crayons! ​
