Every Stevenson University student is required to complete at least one internship before they graduate. We have six English majors interning this semester! Over the next few weeks, I will be profiling each student and their internship.

Junior Cari Rusk is interning at Liberty Pediatrics & Family Medicine, LLC, a private pediatric and family medicine office in Eldersburg, MD. Cari created and manages the office’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts. As a commuter student, she enjoys the very short commute from her house and the small business vibe because it makes her feel cared for. She is interested in a career in digital publishing and/or social media. Cari hopes to enhance her communication skills on social media and in person.

Junior and Greenspring Review Editor-in-Chief, Jordan Mitchell is interning at Junior Achievement of Central Maryland in Owings Mills. SU English alumna Shawna Thomas recommended the internship to her. Jordan is conducting prospect research for potential corporate donors and writing grant letters. She aspires to work in education, perhaps educational theory or policy, so she finds it valuable to know what happens behind the scenes of nonprofit educational organizations like this one. In addition, Jordan hopes to become proficient in computer platforms like Microsoft Online.
