SOE Dean, Dr. Beth Kobett, was featured on an episode of the podcast Rounding Up called, “Practical Ways to Build Strength-Based Math Classrooms.” Rounding Up podcast, 9/7/23
Dr. Kobett was interviewed by Mike Wallus, Vice President for Educator Support for The Math Learning Center, based on the book she co-authored, Strength-Based Teaching and Learning in Mathematics: 5 Teaching Turnarounds for Grades K-6.
The interview focused on the question, “What if it were possible to capture all of the words teachers said or thought about students and put them in word clouds that hovered over each student throughout the day? What impact might the words in the clouds have on students’ learning experience?” Dr. Kobett talked about practices that support strengths-based teaching and learning and ways educators can implement them in their classrooms.
