The Stevenson Psi Omicron Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi (KDP), an international education honors society, was recognized during Founder’s Day week, where 112 years of Kappa Delta Pi were celebrated. The Psi Omicron Chapter was asked by the KDP National Office to take over their Instagram account for one of the days they celebrated. In this social media take over, officers introduced themselves, wished the society a Happy Founder’s Day, and shared a school day.
Beginning on the morning of March 6, officers Wiktoria Bilich (President), Sarah Ameel (Vice President), and Lauren Green (Secretary) wished the society a Happy Founder’s Day before showing their typical morning. Following, Wiktoria shared a day in the life of a third-grade teacher. Additional officers, Jess Magness (Recruitment Chair) and Jamie Fritz (Treasurer) joined the takeover to show their KDP pride. Per the request of the National Office, Wiktoria spoke on the matter of Chapter Awards and Scholarships to encourage others to apply.
The Psi Omicron Chapter was able to celebrate 112 years of inspiring excellence and contributions to the teaching profession. These videos can still be found on the KDP National Office’s saved Instagram stories. Members of this Chapter also joined in on the celebrations, posting photos that showcase their KDP pride.
