On April 16, 2023, School of Education alumni from 2006 to 2022 joined the Psi Omicron Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, an international education honor society, for the “What We Do Matters Celebration” to recognize the esteemed profession of education and the impactful work taking place in the classroom.

Alumni, current KDP members, and faculty enjoyed lunch and refreshments as they partook in the day’s events. Speakers, Melissa Salkheld, Shae Rounds-Kelly, Amber Cook, and Janel Frazier, captivated each and every one of the audience members with their powerful speeches. Powerful messages were delivered regarding holding on to your passion, demonstrating authenticity and risk-taking, creating learning experiences to lay the foundation for equity, and to continue simply showing up each day and offering your best, as that is enough. Their enthusiasm and energy shone through as they shared their expertise, perspectives, and wisdom.

KDP wishes to thank the influential leadership from its chapter counselors, Dr. Beth Kobett and Barbara Lutz, who continue to offer their support and guidance, in addition to the Junior Officers who are committed to representing the values and ideals of Kappa Delta Pi.
