On October 30, 2022, the Psi Omicron Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, an international education honor society, held the 2022 Fall Induction Ceremony for the initiation of new members. Pledging to be faithful to its principles and make the mission and values of KDP their own, seventeen candidates were presented to the Chapter and declared members of KDP. Joining the celebration, guest speaker Shae Rounds-Kelly reminded the community that we are forever learners who must remember to show ourselves empathy. Shae noted, “it’s about knowing when to ask for help from your educational community and compassionately holding yourself accountable to improve your practice after reflection.” Wiktoria Bilich, President, commented, “I was inspired by Shae’s authenticity and the insight she offered on being an effective and equitable educator.”
On March 31, 2023, the 2023 Spring Induction Ceremony was held virtually to welcome an additional two members to the Chapter. With the honorary presence of the previous Chapter counselor of 17 years, Dr. Clotile Galbraith partook in the celebrations and offered her congratulations to these inductees. Jamie Fritz, Treasurer, stated that “the officers of the Psi Omicron Chapter feel privileged to have inducted the new members and are proud to have them represent Kappa Delta Pi.”
