Amber Cook ’14 has been selected as a finalist for 2025-26 Assistant Principal of the Year for Baltimore County Public Schools. Ms. Cook is the Assistant Principal of the Year at Elmwood Elementary School.

The three Assistant Principal of the Year finalists (elementary, middle school, and high school) were selected from among 624 nominated by BCPS staff, students, families, and the community. The selection process included reviews and interviews with adjudicators from both staff and the Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools, Inc.

The honorees will be recognized at a special Champions for Children Celebration Gala on Wednesday, April 23, at George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology in Towson. At that event, Baltimore County’s Teacher, Principal, and Assistant Principal of the Year will be named.

Ms. Cook stated, “I am very thankful for the recognition as Assistant Principal of the Year at Elmwood Elementary School and a BCPS finalist, and I consider this to be a huge blessing! In this time, I reflect on the verse from Ephesians 3:20, God is praised for his power, which is able to do far more than we can ever ask or imagine, and that this power works within us. I am excited for what is yet to come!”
