Congratulations to the American Chemical Society (ACS) Club for winning SU’s Outstanding Club Award for the second year in a row! This award “recognizes an organization that has contributed to the Stevenson Community through excellence in meeting the four foundations of civic engagement, education, personal development, and collaborative leadership.” What a great end to such a fun and successful year!
The picture above was at the awards ceremony and includes President Manning, club advisor Mrs. Payne, and the club officers.

Students and faculty gathered for the last club meeting of the semester. There was good food (Terri’s Cafe and Rita’s) and Chemistry Jeopardy! A great time was had by all. Special thanks to the outgoing officers for a phenomenal year!

As the semester winds down, faculty are preparing to move their labs and offices to our new building at the Owings Mills North campus. The Center for Environmental Sustainability has organized a book drive to donate unwanted books from faculty offices. Dr. Tim Dwyer is diving right into the offer to help!

Dr. Jeremy Burkett (shown above) together with members of the Department of Mathematics and Physics organized the 1st Annual Spring Spectacular. The well-attended event included demonstrations, games, liquid nitrogen ice cream making, a vacuum ping-pong ball shooter, a thermite demonstration, a telescope with a solar lens, and other various puzzles and games scheduled throughout the afternoon. An amazing time was had by all!
