The communication department welcomed S.A.F.E. Management’s Hunter McIntyre (in the photo, right), the director of operations in Baltimore, as the 12th annual Shapiro/Rouse lecturer at Stevenson University. He was introduced by Business Communication alum Will Beatson (left). Hunter spoke to a crowd in the Claire Moore room on Nov. 19, 2019, about the importance of communication in the business forum, and was helped with examples from Will as well. Both men were welcomed by Chip Rouse (center), associate professor of business communication, and everyone in the crowd was treated to a copy of Perfecting Your Pitch by Ron Shapiro, a book that Hunter worked on and spoke about during his talk, and which he gave away as a gift.
The series was begun 12 years ago through a generous donation by Ron Shapiro — negotiator, agent, attorney, author. The department of business communication is grateful for Ron’s generous spirit.
