Dr. Keith Johnson was awarded a Maryland Sea Grant this summer. This grant will allow him to purchase an in-situ Aqua TROLL 600 Multiparameter Sonde in support of his oyster restoration research. This device will allow him and his research students to look at abiotic conditions at the national aquarium and several reefball sites. The instrument reads dissolved oxygen, salinity, temperature, turbidity, among other things that are important to oyster growth and survival. Dr Johnson will use that data to compare to the oysters that are growing at the various sites. Congratulations, Dr. Johnson!
