Three faculty members from Stevenson University’s Department of Mathematics attended MathFest in Indianapolis, an annual conference hosted by the Mathematical Association of America. The event brings together mathematicians from across the country to share research, teaching innovations, and outreach efforts.

Dr. Ben Wilson presented a poster in a session on outreach, highlighting Stevenson’s involvement in the Maryland STEM Festival each fall. His poster showcased the Mathstravaganza, an engaging annual event where students and faculty collaborate to promote excitement for mathematics through hands-on activities and interactive demonstrations.

Dr. Mark Branson and Mr. Sean Leavy gave a talk on a new course structure for Introduction to Mathematical Reasoning. Their presentation focused on the pilot implementation of this structure, which incorporates Math for the People, a textbook co-authored by Dr. Branson.
