Research

I especially enjoy teaching mathematics that has practical applications, including statistics and financial/business math.  I have a particular interest in mathematics education, working with and for teachers at all levels, especially preservice educators. I love using puzzles, games, and hands-on tools and techniques to help mathematics make sense. I enjoy sharing (and stealing!) teaching ideas, and have planned and presented at various state and national mathematics conferences for many years.

Outside of “professoring,” I’ve served on a WI board of education for three terms, I am a member of an international service group empowering women & girls (Soroptimist International), and have been active in Scouting, PTOs, and various church activities over the years.

I am a mom to three kids and three kitties, and will attempt to pet any animal that crosses my path. I enjoy ballroom dancing, hiking, and ice cream runs with my husband, crochet, puzzles, growing plants, thrifting, and sewing really poorly.
