Teaching

Prof. Nyland teaches a wide array of courses in digital humanities, publishing, creative writing, and first year writing. This includes ENG 151 College Writing 1, ENG 152 College Writing 2, ENG 224 Introduction to Creative Writing, and various topics in ENG 281 such as Video Games: The Art of Interactive Stories, Modern Adaptations, and Mental Health & Literature. She also teaches both Fiction Writing (325) and  Advanced Fiction Writing (335) and special creative writing topics in ENG 225 such as Writing Through Experience (Travel Writing) and Writing Video Games and Other Interactive Stories. She also teaches the Communication Intensive course ENG 180 Storytelling and advanced topics courses such as ENG 381 Life is Strange. She is the Editorial Faculty Advisor for the Greenspring Review and teaches ENG 256 Introduction to Digital Publishing. Most recently, she has also began teaching ENG 331 Design Your Career.
