Construction continues on the new Sandra and Malcolm Berman Family Performing Arts Center, but two of the building’s signature features—the Herman and Walter Samuelson Foundation Theater and the Music Performance Stage—are taking shape.

When complete, the facilities will provide new state-of-the-art venues for stage and musical productions at Stevenson, as well as hosting fashion, dance, speakers, and other fine arts and cultural events.

The major naming gift from the Sandra and Malcolm Berman Charitable Foundation provided significant support for the performing arts center. The Samuelson Foundation Theater was supported by a generous $1 million gift from the Herman and Walter Samuelson Foundation, made possible by the foundation’s trustees, Louis and Phyllis Friedman. The finished Berman Family Performing Arts Center will also include Fine Foundation Lobby, Bozzuto Family Box Office, Peggy and Yale Gordon Trust Lighting and Audio Control Room, Mangione Family Marquee, scene shop, and support spaces.

The Berman Family Performing Arts Center is the latest addition to Stevenson’s North campus academic hub, which currently includes the Zaffere Library, Manning Academic Center, and the School of Design, Arts, and Communication.
