Stevenson University Announces the Appointment of Susan Gordon as Vice President for Career Services

Stevenson University announces the appointment of Susan B. Gordon as Vice President for Career Services. Gordon has most recently served as Director of Career Development at American University where she has played an important role in advancing the integration of career development into a liberal arts curriculum. She starts January 16, 2018.

Gordon brings with her an impressive breadth and depth of career services experience, which will serve the university, and in particular Stevenson students, very well. She is a collaborative team builder with experience in creating partnerships with employers and campus constituencies. As a thought leader with a demonstrated ability to bring ideas to life, she will ensure that Stevenson remains a leader in career preparation, providing a value-added benefit to our students.

Gordon is active in a variety of professional organizations, including the National Career Development Association, Maryland Career Development Association, and National Association of Colleges and Employers. She holds a Master of Science degree in Organization Development from American University and a Master of Science degree in Applied Behavioral Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Two counseling credentials (Licensed Clinical and Professional Counselor/LCPC and National Certified Counselor/NCC) and a certification for the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) round out her robust portfolio.

Gordon resides in Montgomery County with her husband, Keith, and two dogs. She has three adult children who have chosen careers across a broad spectrum Jeanie, an international education professional, Sean, a professional bassoonist, and Chris, who is completing his mechanical engineering studies at Syracuse University.
