Marine Veteran, Stevenson Alumnus Featured in CBS Evening News Segment

Stevenson UniversityalumnusJon Dansicker ’14, a veteran of the U.S. Marines, was interviewed for a CBS Evening Newssegment that aired on Wednesday. Dansicker graduated from Stevenson with a degree in Criminal Justice.

The segment explained the story behind the Catch a Lift Fund, a charity that provides veterans with free access to gyms anywhere in the country as well as equipment for those who want to work out at home.

In addition to being one of more than 2,500 veterans benefitting from the initiative, Dansicker served with Cpl. Chris Coffland, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2009. Coffland’s sister, Lynn Coffland, created the Catch a Lift Fund to honor her brother and provide an outlet for veterans struggling to find an outlet to cope with the invisible wounds of war.
