Announcing New Gifts in Support of Scholarships for Stevenson Students
Stevenson University is pleased to announce it has recently received generous gifts from the Rollins-Luetkemeyer Foundation, the Kahlert Foundation, and Robert and Lara Biagiotti that will support existing scholarships or create new endowed scholarships for Stevenson students.
The Rollins-Luetkemeyer Foundation, Inc.
This year, more than $516,000 has been raised to provide 50 scholarships to Fall 2025 incoming students through the Rollins-Luetkemeyer Scholars Program for Middle-Income Students. The Stevenson community raised $258,000, and that amount was generously matched by the Rollins-Luetkemeyer Foundation. Since the scholarship’s inception in 2023, the Rollins-Luetkemeyer Foundation has provided $782,252 in matching funds, and Stevenson has been able to award more than 120 four-year scholarships. Stevenson is also pleased to announce that the Rollins-Luetkemeyer Foundation will be providing matching scholarship funding for a fourth consecutive year.
The Kahlert Foundation
The Kahlert Foundation has made a $500,000 gift to endow the new Kahlert Foundation STEM Scholarship Fund. The fund will provide scholarships to students studying science, technology, engineering, and mathematics at Stevenson. The Kahlert Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life and well-being of communities by providing grants to non-profit organizations in the areas of healthcare, education, youth programs, veteran organizations, and human services with a geographical focus on the states of Maryland and Utah. The Kahlert Foundation previously provided a $200,000 grant to Stevenson in 2019 for biomedical engineering equipment; a $350,000 major gift in 2022 to support the construction of The Kahlert Foundation Makerspace in the Manning Academic Center; and a $25,000 gift in 2023 in support of the Rollins-Luetkemeyer Foundation scholarships.
Robert and Lara Biagiotti
The Biagiottis have committed $50,000 to create the Lara and Robert Biagiotti Endowed Scholarship for Medical Laboratory Science. The scholarship will provide aid to full-time students in Stevenson’s Medical Laboratory Science program who have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Rob and Lara Biagiotti have a long history with Stevenson. Rob is Vice President for Enterprise Asset Management at the Exelon Corporation. He is a long-serving member of Stevenson’s Board of Trustees. Lara Biagiotti is Program Coordinator and Professor for Stevenson’s Medical Laboratory Science program. Their son, Benjamin, graduated summa cum laude from Stevenson in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics.
