Andre Williams Appointed Vice President of Student Affairs at Stevenson

Stevenson is pleased to announce that Andre J. Williams has been appointed Vice President of Student Affairs, effective May 22, 2023. Williams has more than 25 years of higher education experience in the areas of student development, enrollment management, continuing education, conflict resolution, Title IX regulation, and residence life. He currently serves as the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Director of Residence Life and Housing at Stevenson.

“In his current role, Andre has made significant contributions to the process of campus renewal, increased census and student activities in the Residence Halls, and provided guidance to help our students navigate the return to a vibrant campus life,” said Stevenson President Elliot Hirshman. “He has brought experience, knowledge of student affairs practices, a collaborative spirit, wisdom, and a calm demeanor to these efforts.”

Prior to his role as Assistant Vice President, Williams served as Stevenson’s Director of Residence Life and Student Conduct and as Assistant Director of Student Conduct. Immediately prior to joining Stevenson, he served as the Director of Judicial Affairs and Title IX at Baltimore City Community College for seven years.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Williams attended high school at Baltimore City College, and earned his Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice at Coppin State University and his Master’s in Human Resources Development at McDaniel College. He has volunteered with youth organizations in the community, including Top Teens of America-Baltimore Chapter, the Boys and Girls Club of West Hills, and Loch Raven Football League. He has been an active member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity for 32 years.

Over the next several months, Williams will be working closely with Interim Vice President of Student Affairs Eric Rivera to ensure a smooth and productive transition in the Division of Student Affairs.
