Do you wonder when you will finish your degree? Do you keep hearing horror stories about students who can’t graduate due to unavailable courses? The process of finishing your degree can be very intimidating, but I assure you – you can master it and graduate! The best course of action for students is to set up a graduation plan with a Student Success Coach. This plan will help you tackle the uncertainty and hesitation you may feel about finishing your degree.

Creating a graduation plan also helps you plan out your future class schedules. You can set up an appointment with your Student Success Coach to discuss your course plan either over the phone or in-person. Graduation plans are usually completed by graduate students but it can also be a helpful guide for undergraduate students. We recognize life happens and adjustments may need to be made along the way, but we feel it is important for students to have a plan in place even if it is not full-proof.

The benefits of creating a graduation plan are as follows:

  • Enables you to concentrate on an end date and goal – graduation!
  • Allows you to focus on a tangible, written-out plan
  • Easier registration process
  • Ability to line up schedules with friends or coworkers in the same degree, track, or concentration
  • Alleviates stress of scheduling classes, work, and life
  • Allows you to plan out your online and on-campus classes

You can create a plan on your own, but it is recommended that you discuss the plan with your Student Success Coach in order to avoid any roadblocks. Because the Student Success Coaches work closely with the Program Coordinators and Associate Deans they are more aware of inside information and unavailable courses.

I wish you the best of luck on your path toward graduation and look forward to seeing you walk across the stage!
