On Halloween night, English Club hosted the annual Halloween Party, which was located in the banquet hall of Rockland. The party started promptly at 9pm and lasted until midnight.

There was music, dancing, tarot card readings, palm readings, a “guess what’s in the bowl” game, food and of course, CANDY! But our highlight of the evening had to be the costume contest.

There were plenty of different looking costumes that night, but only six people joined the contest. We had a cowboy, Harley Quinn, Luigi, Blade, Phantom of the Opera, and Baymax enter into the contest. Unfortunately, there were only 4 awards given. There was tough competition since every costume was so great, but the winners definitely deserved their prizes.

There were four categories: scariest costume, most accurate, audience choice, and best costume overall. The judges were four of our own members of the English Club: Kamilah, Colleen, Emily and myself.

The winners received skull mugs filled with candy and Halloween paraphernalia, and the winner of best costume overall also received a marvelous skeleton trophy. The winners were as follows: scariest went to Phantom of the Opera, most accurate went to Luigi, audience choice was Baymax and our best costume overall was Blade.

All the winners were great, but Blade had his entire persona in a costume, which is why he won for best costume overall.

All in all, English Club pulled off a really great Halloween party and we thank everyone who came and partied with us.
