The Greenspring Review (GSR), previously called THIS Mag, is Stevenson University’s digitally published literary magazine. The GSR accepts not only short stories and poetry, but also photos, films, screenplays, and art. The GSR has been a staple of the English Department and the current Editor-in-Chief, Audrey Diggs, has brought it to an amazing place.
Since Audrey has been Editor-in-Chief, the popularity has increased and the submission rate has more than doubled. Now she has taken the GSR a step further by giving the GSR club status and merging it with the English Club. Audrey says that both organizations serve similar purposes, “to give Stevenson students a safe space to discuss their writing or creative work and to discuss other creative work they like or want to share with other people”. Merging the two organizations will “benefit the Stevenson community by giving the magazine a bigger platform and greater opportunities to provide students with writing events.”
Now that the GSR has obtained club status, it will be able to host more events along with its open-mics. They hope to host author readings and events that feature creatives from Baltimore and other regions of Maryland.
Fall submissions are still open until midnight tonight, 11.7.18. Submission can be sent to greenspringreview@gmail.com it’s a great opportunity have your work published and have it seen by your fellow students and faculty. If you don’t plan to submit for the fall, start preparing to submit for the spring! There are two editions of the GSR every school year.
